- Check your driver’s license and
vehicle tags to make sure they have not expired.
Check on speed limit changes. If you need to
renew your vehicle tags you may be eligible for some
exemptions.
- Reactivate your vehicle insurance
to reflect your current status, if applicable.
- Preventative Maintenance Checks and
Services (PMCS) your Privately Owned Vehicle (POV)
especially if it has not been used for 1 year or
more.
- Verify registration in TRICARE for

- File your AZ military
appreciation fund. Go to
http://thankmntroops.org. You will be eligible
to collect a grant for $250 or more.
- Notify your creditors that you are
no longer eligible for the 6% interest rate.
Creditors may demand the remainder of the unpaid
interest amount if you choose not to contact them.
- Complete your travel voucher with
your unit because you are entitled to per diem and
other allowances. Make sure it is done accurately
and correctly.
- File your state and federal income
taxes.
- Rescind any Power of Attorney you
may have outstanding
- Ensure any promotions, awards, or
re-enlistments are recorded in your permanent 201
file and review your promotion packet.
Review your record on AKO, and in PERMS.
- Unpack your gear ASAP (as soon as
possible) and ensure proper cleaning and
serviceability. Immediately turn in any contraband
or sensitive items you may have.
- To ensure your personal success,
adopt a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly.
- Contact your CVSO to set up
your dental exam withing 180 days of discharge.
