Officer and NCO In Charge Comments
Welcome to the day and the life of the Aviation Medical Section Task Force Desert Hawk. Our section includes a Flight Surgeon, COL Penaloza; Flight PA, MAJ Jackson; NCOIC, SSG Burgess; and two Combat Medics, SGT Sotelo and SPC Sullivan. On a daily basis we support the fighting strength of 450 Task Force Soldiers with the performance of sick call and minor out-patient procedures. We conduct aviation flight physicals to keep our pilots flying to standard. Our section responds and performs trauma medicine during emergency calls at the FOB Hospital 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We also support the Medevac missions with our own Casevac teams 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Lastly, on a weekly basis we are either attending or conducting medical training to keep our medical skills and the skills of our Combat Lifesavers at sharp.
