Arizona National Guard Be Resilient Program

The Be Resilient Program is an initiative developed within the Arizona National Guard to promote mission readiness and retention by increasing the resiliency of each Service Member and their Family.  I am directing that it is the responsibility of each AZNG Member to access and utilize the programs and services herein.

The Be Resilient Program is part of the newly instituted Total Force Team (TFT), which will focus on integrating and coordinating the efforts of all resilience and support programs for AZNG Members and their Families.  The position of TFT Director has been created to oversee all aspects of program implementation.

Be Resilient offers a menu of training, resources, and support that can be customized to meet the unique needs of the Service Members and Families throughout the Arizona National Guard. The program focuses on engaging and coordinating internal Guard and external community resources to ensure that Guard members and families have the best support possible.

I rely on each of you to adopt the skills being taught by our new cadre of Be Resilient trainers. These trainers will be specially trained to teach resilience, stress identification and reduction, suicide prevention, and health promotion.  The goal of the training is to be proactive to reduce stress and also have services at the ready in case an incident occurs.

With the proper training and engagement of our entire force, it is possible to extend support to every Guard member and Family and to reduce the incidence and impact of crisis, stress, and suicide.  Each of you is a critically important part of this effort.  Given the seriousness of what can occur when we are not actively attending to our emotional, social, family, psychological, spiritual and physical health, I expect nothing less than your full commitment to this program.
